What the 2023 Season Covered

The 2023 guide covered Colorado’s big game calendar — September archery and muzzleloader, then the rifle seasons through November — along with license basics, unit selection and gearing up for the high country. Every one of those seasons has closed, but if you’re planning ahead, the shape of the year stays the same: draw applications in early April, leftover licenses in August, bows in September, rifles in October and November.

Advice That Never Expires

Buy your ammo early and pattern or sight-in before opening week. Glass more, walk less — quality optics find animals your boots never will. Know your unit boundaries cold, and get your rifle to our gunsmiths for scope mounting and a trigger check before the fall rush.
